Northwoods Education is my vision for an organization that helps high school students by using micro learning to earn credits for graduation. The vision of Northwoods Education is to help students rapidly gain credits 1/10 of a credit at a time. Semesters are long and school is hard, students should be able to demonstrate competency and get credits rapidly when motivated.
The highly visually compelling front end was created by Joanna Hernandez of Razzo Marketing in Chicago, Illinois. She tweaked University theme with wordpress bakery, slider revolution and learndash. She is an excellent SEO optimizer, WordPress Dev and all around problem solver. She has a very solid knowledge of the social landscape of developers, creatives and other tech tied professionals in Chicago and nationwide. She has an in depth understanding of marketing psychology, wordpress architecture and search engine optimization.
This site uses WordPress with a variety of high quality plugins. Learndash is used for the LMS functionality, University is the theme and WordPress bakery is used to build out the site. I also experimented with automated grading using forms, and membership is controlled by paid memberships pro.
Overall I am excited to continue building this site when I am no longer employed as a teacher. Working as a school district contracted teacher makes deploying and monetizing educational delivery systems legally challenging.
